'MOMENTOUS' Experience, Photo by Byron Co, MAKK, 2023
In late 2023, Byron Co's photobook 'MOMENTOUS' was showcased at the Museum of Applied Arts Cologne (MAKK) as part of the Kölner Design Preis 2023 exhibition, held from November 23 to December 4. This final Master thesis project from the Köln International School of Design (KISD) delved into the depths of photographic archives, offering a profound reflection on time, memory, and the delicate nature of images.
The exhibition featured a unique presentation of the photobook medium, with projections displayed on a wall corner, creating an immersive visual experience. Additionally, archival materials were meticulously showcased in clear acrylic cases atop museum pedestals, allowing visitors to engage intimately with the historical context of the work.
MOMENTOUS was honored as part of the Kölner Design Preis and shortlisted later on for the Dummy Award 2024, reflecting its resonance within local and international photography communities.
